Locai Labs

Locai Labs is a London-based AI research company that designs and builds on-premises AI computers for organisations seeking greater control over their data, models and computing. Its Locai 1 systems run AI locally in an office, keeping prompts, documents and outputs on the machine rather than sending them to cloud servers. The company says its products are purchased outright, with no per-token charges or rate limits, and operate using air cooling and a standard wall socket.

The range includes Locai 1 Nano for small 40-billion-parameter models, Locai 1 for medium 120-billion-parameter models, and Locai 1 Pro for large 300-billion-parameter models. Each is intended to support organisational use, including general AI chat and agentic coding workloads. Locai Labs also works with customers on specialised deployments: for First Light Fusion, it deployed an air-gapped coding assistant post-trained for scientific and engineering workflows. Its systems are also being trialled by the UK Government’s Incubator for AI for secure, data-sensitive workloads.
