About Local-History
Its local-history collection brings together fragmentary film recordings of places connected to these crimes. The curated FilmFragmente invite people to explore the present-day condition of historical sites virtually, without being limited by time or location.
The project focuses on the lives and experiences of people persecuted under Nazism, including Sinti and Roma, Jewish people, victims of forced institutional care and so-called “euthanasia” murders, and forced labourers. The FilmFragmente are released under open licences, making them both resources and invitations for active, creative engagement with this history. Visitors can learn about the project, access its film-based material and explore associated digital tools. Through this approach, überLEBENSWEGE supports historical learning and reflection on places of persecution and the people whose lives were shaped by them. The project is part of the Educational Agenda for Nazi Injustice, funded by the Foundation EVZ and Germany’s Federal Ministry of Finance.
