Local Seeds is a marketplace dedicated to seed savers, offering a wide variety of open-pollinated seeds that are adapted to your local climate. Our mission is to encourage the practice of seed saving and to provide people with access to seeds that are specifically suited to their environment. By saving seeds, we preserve the genetic diversity of plants, ensuring that desirable traits like nutritional value, ease of cultivation, and resistance to pests are passed down through generations.

Unfortunately, over the past century, a staggering 90% of seed varieties used for food production have been lost. Many commercially available seeds prioritize appearances and shelf life over taste and nutritional value, as well as adaptability to specific climates. When you buy seeds from local seed savers through Local Seeds, you support their efforts to preserve genetic diversity, while also obtaining seeds that perform exceptionally well in your own garden.
