Lockwood Publishing Ltd is a game company and the award-winning creator of Avakin Life, a 3D social universe available on mobile and PC. Founded around its flagship experience, Lockwood builds virtual spaces where players can connect, create and express themselves in a safe, inclusive environment. Avakin Life has recorded more than 500 million downloads and, in 2026, celebrates its 13th anniversary as one of the world’s longest-running social metaverses.
Players can bring their avatar, wardrobe and friends from mobile to PC through the game’s Steam release, which supports cross-platform progression. The community generates substantial activity, including hundreds of millions of monthly chats and hundreds of thousands of new friendships each day. Lockwood has also been recognised as Best Community Developer on PlayStation Home for six consecutive years.
The company operates across Nottingham, Lisbon and Ho Chi Minh City, and invites people interested in shaping Avakin Life to explore its careers opportunities. Its Nottingham office is at 14 Park Row, and the company can be contacted by email for general enquiries
