About Lof
Lof is a brand founded by Sophie Poelman, a functional textile designer with a passion for balancing high-performance textiles and design aesthetics. Lof aims to provide a new perspective for New Zealand wool, combining integrity, curiosity, and creativity to create solutions for the environmental crisis we face today. Sophie's journey began after returning to New Zealand and learning about the struggles of the wool industry.
She realized that wool, with its functional and circular fiber properties, held immense potential and could be a solution to the plastic textile problem. Collaborating with her partner, Alain Brideson, a renowned industrial designer, they sought to expand the design possibilities of wool. Their design approach centers around simplicity, aesthetics, and functionality.
