Lofoten Glass

Lofoten Glass is the workshop, gallery and online store of glass artist Cathinka Mæhlum, based in Kabelvåg in Norway’s Lofoten Islands. Her handmade glass art draws inspiration from the region’s distinctive light and dramatic natural scenery, including the Northern Lights, the midnight sun and the surrounding mountains. Each piece is individually crafted, with subtle variations in shape and color that make every work unique.

The collection includes vases, decorative glass spheres, drinking glasses, hearts, lamps and glass jewelry, as well as engraved glass and gift cards. Visitors can explore the gallery and see the workshop, or shop online, with products shipped worldwide. Lofoten Glass also offers glass demonstrations and small-group jewelry workshops. With personal guidance and materials provided, participants make their own glass beads and can turn them into necklaces, bracelets, key rings or earrings. Workshops are limited to six participants to allow for individual support. Combining original craftsmanship, locally inspired designs and creative experiences, Lofoten Glass offers both distinctive keepsakes and the opportunity to make something by hand.
