LOLA Landscape Architects is a Rotterdam-based design practice that studies and shapes spatial transitions in lost landscapes. Its work combines thoughtful ideas with targeted interventions to create places that are beautiful, surprising, and thriving. The practice aims to make projects memorable through distinctive experiences, while responding to the character and potential of each landscape.
LOLA’s work spans landscape design, masterplanning, research, and related design projects. Its portfolio includes Entree Zoetermeer in the Netherlands, the Sponsland landscape in Groningen, and Shenzhen Bay Park in China. The studio also works on urban and heritage landscapes, including the transformation of the area around Prague’s Nádraží Holešovice transport hub and the Etzenrade Castle garden, developed in collaboration with Piet Oudolf and Erfgoedtuin Etzenrade. Its Haitang River Eco Park II project received first prize in the urban forestry and landscape rehabilitation category of the CITY’SCAPE AWARD. Through projects, research, and publications, LOLA explores how landscapes can be reimagined and enriched for people and nature.
