Long Gong

Long Gong is a nationwide .22 LR precision steel-rifle sport built around an accessible, score-based match at 300 yards. Shooters use rimfire rifles to engage three suspended AR400 steel gongs—8, 6, and 4 inches wide—from a supported bench. Each target is worth a different number of points, and competitors work through five sets of 10 rounds, aiming to score as highly as possible while adapting to wind and changing conditions.

The sport welcomes beginners and experienced marksmen alike. Participants need a .22 LR rifle, ammunition, and eye and ear protection; a rest or bags can help. Matches are designed to keep every shooter involved and to support competition across ages, budgets, and physical abilities. Long Gong provides rules, scoresheets, schedules, results and standings, a match map, a club directory, and guidance for getting started. Shooters can create a free account to find matches and receive updates, while clubs and ranges can register to host events.
