About Virginia Passenger Rail Authority
The Virginia Passenger Rail Authority (VPRA) is committed to enhancing passenger rail service across the Commonwealth. Established in 2020, VPRA oversees the Amtrak Virginia service, which offers eight daily roundtrips from Roanoke, Norfolk, Newport News, and Richmond, and also provides funding to Virginia Railway Express (VRE).
