About The Long Island Conservation Alliance
The Long Island Conservation Alliance is a dedicated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on restoring and preserving Long Island's ecological health. Comprised of environmental experts, civic leaders, and community advocates, the Alliance addresses the unique ecological challenges facing one of the world's most densely populated islands. Their initiatives aim to rebuild native ecosystems, enhance biodiversity, and strengthen the resilience of natural habitats.
The Alliance offers various programs and services aimed at fostering ecological literacy and community engagement, including signature youth initiatives like Tykes That Hike, Sprout Squad, and the Youth Leadership Ambassadors. These programs empower young individuals to connect with nature while developing crucial skills. As an official land trust, the Alliance collaborates with local communities and organizations to protect, restore, and manage vital landscapes throughout Long Island.
Through habitat restoration, invasive species management, and ongoing ecological monitoring, the Long Island Conservation Alliance works tirelessly to advance science-based conservation goals that benefit both the environment and the local population.
