Long Lake Hounds is a Minnesota organization dedicated to preserving the sport of drag hunting and sharing the experience of riding in beautiful country alongside a working pack of foxhounds. Its members ride in locations across the west metro, where trained hounds follow a scent that is deliberately laid for them. The organization cares for and trains its hounds, and welcomes riders with varied experience, horses, and riding backgrounds—not only those from traditional English disciplines.

Long Lake Hounds aims to make hunting accessible to newcomers, returning participants, Pony Club members, and juniors. People who do not ride are also welcome to watch the hounds work together. The organization hosts regular hunts and special events, including a Poker Run, a team Hunter’s Pace, and a Blessing of the Hounds. Some events offer spectator arrangements, such as a car-following caravan, and may include a catered breakfast. Through its rides, events, and hound care, Long Lake Hounds brings people together to enjoy horses, hounds, and the outdoors.
