Look Ahead Labs

Look Ahead Labs is a Vancouver-based creative studio that develops augmented reality experiences for public art and cultural spaces. With more than 30 years of experience across animation, games, virtual reality, and AR, the team creates site-specific work designed for artists and real-world audiences. Its services include AR for murals, sculptures, installations, festivals, and outdoor activations; city-wide trails and QR-based experiences; and location-based storytelling and interactive visitor experiences for cultural and tourism campaigns.

Look Ahead Labs also collaborates with artists on concepts and technical direction, helping shape ideas into polished, feasible AR projects, and offers workshops for artists, students, cultural teams, and creative technologists. The studio’s process moves from concept development and technical feasibility through prototyping, review, production, device testing, launch support, and documentation. Its projects include three years of city-wide AR public art with VMF Winter Arts, tourism-focused AR filters for the Northwest Territories, and augmented murals created with artists including Sean Karemaker and Ocean Hyland
