About LOONAWELL
Loonawell is a Swiss Pet Food Startup Company that is dedicated to producing premium, organic, and human-grade quality treats for dogs. Founded in February 2020 by Dr. Maria de Bettencourt Tavares, an expert in Biomedical Sciences and Food Ingredient Development, Loonawell was born out of Maria's personal disappointment and frustration in finding healthy and nutritious dog food and treats for her own Westie, Luna.
Driven by her passion and professional background, Maria embarked on a mission to create healthy dog food and treats that she could trust. The creation of Loonawell involved an exhaustive scientific review of ingredients to ensure their contribution to dogs' health. This was followed by an extensive product development stage, where four different types of treats were prototyped and tested with feedback from both dogs and their owners.
What sets Loonawell apart is their commitment to using only natural vitamins, amino acids, and minerals sourced from bio-origin healthy ingredients, rather than relying on additives.
