Ecuries de Lortenia is a pony club and equestrian centre in Arcangues, around three kilometres from Biarritz in the French Basque Country. Set on a 20-hectare property of woodland and parkland, the centre combines a natural setting with historic surroundings, including a former fox-hunting departure point and a manor house dating from the 19th century.
The club welcomes children aged 4 to 16 and provides 25 ponies in a range of sizes, including Shetland, Welsh and Connemara breeds. Its activities introduce young riders to ponies, their lives and behaviour, as well as the care and support they require. Riding instruction progresses from learning to ride through preparation for equestrian examinations.
Lessons and activities take place in the riding arena and outdoor areas, offering opportunities to learn and enjoy riding in a natural environment. With 40 years of experience, Ecuries de Lortenia emphasizes serious instruction, safety and appropriate supervision. The centre is located on Chemin de Lortenia in Arcangues and can be contacted by phone or email for information.
