Lotusia is an open-source, permissionless reputation protocol built around the Lotus blockchain. Its system lets communities express trust through transparent, on-chain votes: users spend, or “burn,” Lotus to upvote or downvote posts and profiles, and each vote contributes to a public reputation graph. The permanent cost of voting is intended to make the system more resistant to Sybil attacks and manipulation, without moderators or shadow bans.
Lotus (XPI) is the currency that powers this activity. It is issued through Proof-of-Work mining, with issuance adjusted to the needs of the ecosystem, and is removed from circulation when users burn it to vote. Lotusia’s Stewardship also develops and maintains open-source public goods, including blockchain infrastructure, indexers, libraries, and wallet tools. Users can access Lotus through the LotusQT wallet or Chrome extension, and developers can build on the ecosystem’s permissionless tools.
Live since 2021, Lotusia describes its network as based on Bitcoin ABC-derived UTXO software. Its website provides documentation, an explorer, ecosystem resources, and community updates in seven languages.
