About The Lotus Project
The Lotus Project is a collaborative initiative between the Public Health Institute (PHI) and Richmond Area Multi-Services (RAMS), dedicated to supporting Asian American and Asian Immigrant (AAAI) children and families affected by trauma. Funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, this project focuses on providing technical assistance through a variety of workshops, webinars, and individual consultations aimed at mental health professionals, educators, and community health workers.
Offering culturally competent and evidence-based training, the Lotus Project equips participants with effective strategies for addressing the unique challenges faced by AAAI populations in mental health contexts, including child welfare and juvenile justice settings. The project also fosters a collaborative network of service providers, advocating for policy changes to enhance trauma-informed care. Through resources and community engagement, the Lotus Project seeks to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those affected by racial trauma and mental health issues, promoting healing and resilience within the community.
