The Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award is a prestigious honor that recognizes the elite place-kickers in college football, celebrating their significant contributions to the game. Named after the legendary Lou Groza, this annual award has evolved alongside the sport, highlighting the crucial role kickers play in determining the outcome of football games. Unlike in the past when kickers were often overlooked, today's top high school talents are highly sought after, further emphasizing the importance of this position.

Organized by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission, the Lou Groza Award not only acknowledges individual excellence but also fosters a community among past winners and finalists. The award ceremony showcases not just the winners, like the 2024 recipient Kenneth Almendares from the University of Louisiana, but also the journey of standout performers throughout the season. By providing a platform for recognition and celebration, the Lou Groza Award has enshrined an elite group of athletes in college football history, ensuring their legacy endures.
