Louisiana Stock Horse

The Louisiana Stock Horse Association (LaSH) is a horsemen-led organization that promotes practical ranch riding through affordable clinics, competitions, and evaluations across Louisiana. Its programs help riders build their knowledge and skills while improving horses’ trainability, performance, and safety. Clinics teach stock horse maneuvers in a fun, standardized setting, with the goal of helping participants develop better horses, perform more effectively on the job, and enjoy their riding.

LaSH offers low-cost, practical competitions and evaluations that measure horse performance against defined standards and assess rider proficiency. These events are intended to help riders track progress and make efficient gains in their skills. Featured disciplines include reining, cutting, working cow, ranch pleasure, and ranch trail. The association emphasizes honesty, openness, personal growth, courtesy among horsemen, respect for horses, and western tradition.

LaSH also provides a show schedule, rule book, membership application, news, sponsor information, and a Hall of Fame. Riders can join through its online membership application. The association is an affiliate member of the National Ranch and Stock Horse Alliance.
