The Love Buckland Museum is dedicated to preserving the history of Buckland and the Love Family. One of their featured presentations is the Battle of Buckland Mills Video Presentation. This 25-minute video recounts the final chapter of the 11-day Bristoe Campaign in October 1863.

During this 16-hour cavalry fight, Confederate forces led by General JEB Stuart defeated General Judson Kilpatrick's Union brigades on the roads and fields surrounding Buckland. Referred to affectionately as the Buckland Races by the Confederate Cavalry, this battle holds significant historical importance. The video is based on Stephen Fonzo's extensive research, which incorporates official Civil War records, archaeological findings, and various primary sources from the Buckland Preservation Society.
