Lovisa skärgårds

Lovisa Archipelago Fisheries Area is a statutory, public-benefit association responsible for developing fisheries management within its jurisdiction and fostering cooperation among members to support the sustainable use and care of fish stocks. Its membership consists of holders of fishing rights, usually owners of water areas, as well as nationwide organizations in the fisheries sector; membership is automatic. The area covers waters in the Lovisa archipelago and the southern parts of the Forsby and Tessjö rivers, spanning approximately 45,280 hectares.

The organization provides practical information and resources for fishing and aquatic stewardship. Its website features local fishing permits, fishing regulations, supervision information, water conservation resources, maps, and details about member co-operatives, meetings, and compensation to water owners. It also publishes notices, meeting documents, and updates on fisheries-related issues and projects. Through these activities, Lovisa Archipelago Fisheries Area supports responsible fisheries administration and collaboration among fishing-right holders, water owners, and sector organizations. Its public information is available in Swedish and Finnish, with selected fishing guidance also presented in English.
