Lovska zveza

The Slovenian Hunting Association (Lovska zveza Slovenije, LZS) is the national organization representing and supporting hunting in Slovenia. Based in Ljubljana, it brings together member hunting organizations and coordinates activities across areas including wildlife management, nature conservation, hunting culture, education, research and hunting dog work. Its resources help people learn how to become hunters or hunting wardens, prepare for examinations and access information about hunting regulations, wildlife species and hunting seasons.

LZS also organizes training and events, including shooting and canine activities, youth camps, cultural gatherings and the Slovenian Hunting Day. Its conservation work includes projects, clean-up initiatives and the Zeleni sklad, while its information resources cover wild mammals and birds, protected species and hunters’ responsibilities. Publications include the magazine Lovec, the Zlatorog Yearbook and books from its libraries. The association provides practical services and information for members, such as hunting licence guidance, forms, public announcements and an event calendar. Through these activities, LZS supports an organized hunting community and promotes knowledge of wildlife and responsible stewardship.
