The Lower Platte River Corridor Alliance (LPRCA) works to protect, enhance, and restore the vitality of the Lower Platte River and its resources. Bringing together residents, stakeholders, and the wider public, the Alliance supports locally developed strategies and practical actions for a river corridor rich in natural, cultural, economic, and social resources. Its programs address river health, recreation, and community involvement.
Projects include water quality monitoring and management, ice-jam monitoring, studies of sandbars and cumulative impacts, and the assessment and removal of river obstructions. In partnership with the U. S.
Army Corps of Engineers and the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, LPRCA has also developed a recreation master plan with maps, goals, and recommendations. The Alliance shares useful information through reports, publications, public meetings, events, informational kiosks, and online map resources. It also connects people with real-time water quality and streamflow data provided through partnerships and public agencies.
Residents can participate through volunteer opportunities, events, newsletter updates, and other ways to get involved in caring for the corridor
