About LOYOC Cameroon
LOYOC Cameroon is a leading youth-led, non-profit, and non-governmental organization that was established in 2002. Our mission is to address the socio-political and economic challenges faced by young people in Cameroon, including unemployment, bad governance, gender-based violence, and lack of quality education. We also focus on combating poverty, corruption, and exclusion from decision-making processes that often lead to youth radicalization and involvement in crime and violence.
With offices across the country, our primary goal is to empower young people aged 15 to 35 in the domains of sustainable development, peacebuilding, countering violent extremism, and humanitarian response. In 2022, we expanded our presence to Chad and Niger in collaboration with partner organizations. At LOYOC, we follow a Positive Youth Development Approach that enhances the assets, skills, and opportunities for youth while creating an enabling environment for their growth.
Over the years, we have successfully implemented more than 700 youth development projects, reaching over 4 million young people. Our work has been recognized both nationally and internationally, earning prestigious awards such as the Luxemburg Peace Prize and the Commonwealth Youth Award of Excellence in Development Work. Our operations span across Cameroon, with field offices in Yaoundé, Maroua, Buea, and Bamenda.
Through collaboration with government and development stakeholders, we strive to foster sustainable peace and development in the country. Our core values include humanity beyond identity, inclusion and non-discrimination, dignity, credibility and accountability, and independence and self-reliance. Join us at LOYOC Cameroon and let's work together towards building peaceful, prosperous, and violence-free communities, where young people are respected and engaged as key partners
