About Lpwesternmuseum
The Museum of Western Film History celebrates the heritage of American Western cinema and its close ties to Lone Pine, California, and the Alabama Hills. Formerly known as the Lone Pine Film History Museum, it collects, preserves, archives, and exhibits materials of historical value for public education and enjoyment. Visitors can explore memorabilia, photographs, documents, and movie posters, and learn about the actors, directors, films, and locations connected to the region. The museum’s website also offers a research library, a searchable directory of movies filmed in the Alabama Hills, film-location information, and self-guided tour resources.
The museum hosts events including weekly movie screenings, the Lone Pine Film Festival, and Concert in the Rocks. Its store features Western-themed products and Lone Pine collectibles, with sales supporting museum operations. Memberships, donations, and volunteer opportunities help sustain its work. The museum is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; admission is an $8 donation, with tickets available at the museum.
