Luftsportverein Eßweiler e. V. is a flying club based in Eßweiler, in the heart of the Palatinate region of Germany. With around 80 members, the club combines flying activities with a welcoming, family-oriented community and an active social calendar. Members jointly maintain the Eßweiler gliding site, which features a 1,000-metre runway, a clubhouse, a campsite and three hangars. The hangars house the club’s five aircraft: four gliders and one motor glider.

The club focuses primarily on gliding and motor-glider flying, and ultralight flying is also possible. It offers flight training at low cost, supported by four volunteer instructors, as well as guest flights and introductory opportunities in modern gliders and the club’s motor glider. Visitors can enjoy views of the surrounding area and learn more about flying through activities such as the club’s annual introductory course. The annual airfield festival is another highlight of its programme. Prospective members, guests and anyone with questions are welcome to contact the club or visit the airfield.
