Louisville Tropical Fish Fanciers

Louisville Tropical Fish Fanciers (LTFF) is a nonprofit society of aquarium hobbyists that has supported the Louisville-area fishkeeping community for more than 60 years. Founded in 1959 by discus breeder Art Hayley, it is the area’s only all-variety aquarium club, welcoming people interested in tropical and cold-water freshwater, brackish, and marine fish, as well as outdoor ponds. Its members bring expertise spanning African cichlids to ornamental goldfish.

LTFF promotes responsible fishkeeping and encourages members to grow and share a wide variety of aquatic plants. The club also monitors local water quality and shares information about changing conditions, and works with local government to support conservation of native species. Through its community of local members and hundreds of aquariums, LTFF may also help find new homes for fish whose owners can no longer care for them.

The club offers meetings, events, trips, and opportunities to connect with fellow hobbyists. LTFF is a society member of the Federation of American Aquarium Societies, while its individual members participate in specialized societies and study groups. The organization also invites donations to the ACA Guy Jordan Research Fund.
