LTU-Flugzeuge is a privately operated informational website dedicated to the aircraft used by the German airline LTU and its subsidiaries from 1955 to 2011. It is an independent project and is not affiliated with LTU. The site documents 15 main aircraft types in the airline’s history, or 21 when different versions are counted, and presents this material as a resource for aviation enthusiasts and researchers.
Visitors can explore aircraft descriptions, development histories and technical specifications, alongside individual service histories tracing the “careers” of LTU aircraft. The collection covers types including the Vickers Viking, Douglas DC-4, Fokker Friendship and Fellowship, Sud Aviation Caravelle, Lockheed L-1011 TriStar, McDonnell Douglas MD-11, Airbus A320 and A321, Airbus A330, and Boeing 757 and 767. The site also features photographs of LTU aircraft in different liveries, particularly from the 1960s and 1970s, as well as a film and images documenting the final takeoff of an aircraft in LTU colors in Düsseldorf on August 14, 2009. Additional sections provide links and aviation-related information.
