The Dutch Ministry of Defence, presented online as Defensie, is the government organisation responsible for the Netherlands’ defence. Its website provides information about the ministry, its defence components and their activities, alongside news and practical contact and service information. The ministry reports on military operations and developments, including naval activity in Dutch waters and the production of the Caracal helicopter, adapted to Dutch requirements for special operations.

Its public-facing resources include current news, activity updates, magazines, the Defensiejournaal, newsletters and official documents. Visitors can explore defence-related topics, learn about the organisation and find information about working at the ministry. The site also offers contact details and access to privacy and website-preference information.

Through these channels, the Ministry of Defence communicates its work and developments in the Netherlands’ military capabilities to the public. It serves as an information resource rather than a commercial brand, presenting updates and services related to national defence and the organisation’s responsibilities
