Lucis is a mixed-voice choir based in Bath, founded in 2014 and directed by Francis Faux. Known for its welcoming and inclusive spirit, the choir invites singers of all ages and backgrounds to join, with free membership for people under 25 and reduced rates for those aged 26 to 30. Rehearsals take place on Tuesday evenings at St Luke’s Church in Bath, and new members are particularly welcome in the tenor section.
The choir presents around four concerts each year and regularly performs at the Bath Festival and Bath Christmas Market, where it supports local charities. Its repertoire includes sacred choral works, new music and commissions, including Lux Aeterna by its patron, Will Todd. Lucis has toured the Czech Republic and United States and performed at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Cadogan Hall, Wiltshire Music Centre and Bath Abbey. Its programme also features collaborations with guest artists and other ensembles, with upcoming events spanning French sacred music and video game music.
