About Lagos Urban Devt. Initiative
Lagos Urban Development Initiative (LUDI) is an organization dedicated to advocating for a more inclusive, livable, and sustainable Lagos. Through collaboration, research, and dialogue, LUDI brings together like-minded organizations and individuals to work towards urban progress. Formerly known as the Lagos Urban Network, LUDI focuses on three areas: Lagos Urban Network, the Bridge Series, and Policy-Oriented Projects.
LUDI aims to be a major force in pushing for better governance in Lagos, creating a city that is more livable and socially inclusive. They strive to develop a state government that is responsive to the needs of its people, particularly the youth. Moreover, LUDI aims to be the primary source of planning resources, professional contacts, and urban thought in Nigeria.
Their work includes building local capacity for urban planning advocacy, promoting sustainable solutions, and assisting government projects with developmental and policy initiatives. LUDI also strengthens relations between the government and citizens, encourages participatory urban planning in underprivileged areas, and engages Lagos' youth through collaboration, networking, and developing urban solutions.
