The Ludwigshafener Ruderverein von 1878 e.V. (LRV) is one of Ludwigshafen’s oldest and most established sports clubs, with a history of more than 140 years dedicated to rowing. Based at its boathouse on the Rhine in Ludwigshafen, the club welcomes people who want to experience the sport firsthand and offers activities for both newcomers and experienced rowers.

The LRV’s programs span competitive rowing, youth and children’s rowing, adult courses for beginners, recreational rowing, masters training, marathon rowing, and touring trips. Members can take part in regular training and club events, while new participants can explore rowing through introductory courses. The club also competes in regattas and national championships, with recent news highlighting successes by junior crews and outings for its U15 rowers. Its website provides information about training times, contacts, events, the boathouse, club history, and the achievements of its athletes. Through its broad range of rowing opportunities and community activities, the LRV brings together sport, learning, competition, and shared experiences on the water.
