The Leids Universiteits Fonds (Leiden University Fund) is the fund supporting Leiden University. It brings together alumni and other donors to help advance research and nurture emerging academic talent. Contributions enable scientists to pursue innovative research into health, safety, sustainability and other societal challenges, while giving talented students and early-career researchers opportunities to develop their ambitions.

The fund invites supporters to contribute through donations and highlights ways to make a lasting contribution, including leaving a legacy to science. It also shares information about funding and applications, university research, and the impact of philanthropic support. Its featured initiatives include research awards and projects addressing topics such as cardiovascular disease, sustainable crop protection, quality of life after stem cell transplantation, and the effects of femicide on children.

Alongside its funding work, the Leids Universiteits Fonds engages its community through events, news, and public programmes connected with science and the university. Its overall purpose is to give talent room to grow and help research make a meaningful contribution to society.
