Лұғат is a non-commercial initiative dedicated to providing a comprehensive suite of dictionaries for the Kazakh language. Launched in April 2012, it began with a Kazakh-English dictionary and has since expanded dramatically. Over the years, Lұғат has introduced several additional resources, including an explanatory dictionary, orthographic, regional, and synonym dictionaries, culminating in a total of eight dictionaries by early 2014. This rich collection now boasts over 534,000 entries, covering multiple language pairs including Kazakh-Russian and Kazakh-Turkish.

In a significant shift towards community engagement, Lұғат adopted a crowdsourcing model in 2014, allowing users to contribute their own words and act as moderators. This has enriched the platform’s content and increased its accessibility.
