Lukáš Merta

RNDr. Lukáš Merta, Ph.D., provides professional services in nature and landscape conservation, applied ecology, and the restoration of landscapes and aquatic ecosystems. With more than 20 years of experience, he works with a broad range of clients, including private investors, multinational companies, municipalities, government bodies, and nonprofit organizations. His practice draws on collaboration with specialists such as biologists, designers, water-management professionals, and public-sector officials.

His areas of expertise include hydrobiology and ichthyology, aquatic ecosystem ecology and restoration, fish migration and fish passages, fisheries and fishpond management, restoration ecology, protected-area management, and environmental protection. Services also include authorized assessments of significant impacts on protected natural interests and Natura 2000 assessments. His qualifications further cover work with electrofishing equipment for surveys and fish rescue transfers.

Dr. Merta studied ecology and environmental protection at Palacký University in Olomouc and previously worked for the Czech Nature Conservation Agency. Since 2007, he has been self-employed in nature and landscape conservation.
