Lumos Technologies

Lumos Technologies is a Canadian company developing technology for families of autistic children and the professionals who support them. Its work is guided by research and conversations with parents, caregivers, educators, therapists, and health professionals about the challenges of coordinating everyday care. The company’s first product, Playbook Care, is an app currently in testing that brings a child’s health information and care notes together in one place.

Playbook Care helps families manage scheduled and as-needed medications, phone reminders, confirmed allergies and action plans, health contacts, and daily logs covering events such as feeding, sleep, and incidents. Caregivers can record medication observations, while co-guardians can share care responsibilities and review activity in a timeline. Families can also provide other caregivers with temporary, customizable access through a QR code and revoke it when needed.

Lumos is developing a broader platform for autism support. Planned features include visual routines, progress tracking, an audio logbook, an AI-generated individualized education plan, benefits guidance for families in Canada, and a care assistant.
