Lunaria is a non-profit social promotion association, founded in 1992, that actively promotes peace, social and economic justice, equality, and the guarantee of citizenship rights. With a focus on social change at the local, national, and international levels, Lunaria engages in advocacy, political and cultural animation, communication, non-formal education, training, and research activities. Their commitment centers around international volunteering and mobility, youth policies, migration, anti-racism, public policy analysis, sustainable development, and combating inequalities.

Each year, Lunaria involves around 1000 volunteers, both Italians and foreigners, in international and domestic volunteer camps. Lunaria also collaborates with various organizations affiliated with the Alliance of the European Voluntary Service Organisations, enabling the engagement of approximately 600 young people in non-formal education programs and intercultural exchanges through the Erasmus+ program. Additionally, Lunaria conducts research, information campaigns, and initiatives against racism and discrimination, emphasizing the rights of foreigners and the guarantee of asylum.

They also actively participate in the Sbilanciamoci campaign, promoting economic and financial choices that prioritize peace, international politics, the third sector, welfare, environment, work, and culture.
