Lunaris is a comprehensive research data discovery service developed by the Digital Research Alliance of Canada, dedicated to enhancing accessibility to Canadian multidisciplinary research data. This bilingual platform serves as a centralized search point for over 80,000 datasets sourced from more than 100 repositories, including post-secondary institutions, government agencies, and research organizations. Lunaris adheres to the FAIR principles—promoting findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability of data—making it an invaluable resource for researchers, institutions, and repository managers alike.
The platform offers innovative features such as text-based and map search capabilities, streamlining the discovery process. Additionally, it facilitates interoperability with global discovery platforms like OpenAIRE Research Graph and the Data Citation Index, extending the reach of Canadian research. Developed with insights from a dedicated working group and continuous input from the research community, Lunaris not only supports effective data management but also drives collaboration and knowledge sharing across national and international spheres
