The International Association of Lusitanists (AIL) is an organization dedicated to advancing the study of the Portuguese language and the literatures and cultures of Portuguese-speaking countries. Founded in Poitiers in 1984, the association brings together scholarly and cultural initiatives across national and international institutions. Its work includes organizing congresses and colloquia, publishing thematic volumes, and supporting research and collaboration in Lusitanian studies.

AIL publishes Veredas, a peer-reviewed, semiannual scientific journal that shares research on the literature and culture of Portuguese-speaking countries. Its publications also include thematic books connected with its congresses and the “Avanços em...” collection. The association provides information about its publications, events, governance, reports, protocols, and membership, and offers subscription plans for prospective members. Its activities include conferences held in different locations, as well as opportunities such as grants for young researchers from African CPLP countries. Through its journal, books, academic events, and institutional partnerships, AIL serves researchers and readers interested in the diverse cultures and scholarship of the Portuguese-speaking world.
