Prolann SRMP

Luzilight is a French specialist in precision machining for photonics and related industries, and a subsidiary of Groupe Glémot. Created through an innovation partnership between Prolann SRMP and participants in France’s photonics sector, the company developed what it describes as Europe’s first production capability for drilling optical-fibre preforms. Its expertise includes drilling and machining polarization-maintaining (PM) fibre preforms, also known as polarization-maintaining fibre.

Luzilight works with hard materials using high-precision, computer-controlled specialist equipment, and also provides polishing and lapping processes. A second area of activity is precision machining of glass and ceramics, serving the requirements of photonics, defence and aerospace markets. The company supports customers with product development through a design office staffed by mechanical and optical engineers, helping with the design of new products and the manufacture of small and medium production runs.

Based in Lannion, France, Luzilight combines specialized industrial capabilities with engineering support to address demanding applications involving optical fibres, glass and ceramic components. Its work spans both custom product development and precision production for these sectors
