About LXCat
LXCat is a pioneering initiative within the Plasma Data Exchange Project, emerged from discussions at the 2010 Gaseous Electronics Conference. This open-access platform serves as a vital resource for the low-temperature plasma community, facilitating the collection, evaluation, and sharing of essential data for both modeling and experimental interpretation.
LXCat offers an extensive range of databases that include scattering cross sections, swarm parameters, reaction rates, and energy distribution functions. Currently, users can explore over 31 databases encompassing more than 32,000 records related to scattering cross sections alone. The platform is continuously updated and enriched by contributions from community members, ensuring that the data remains relevant and comprehensive.
With tools for both browsing and downloading data, LXCat supports researchers and practitioners in advancing their knowledge and applications in plasma physics. The site also fosters collaboration and communication through features like discussion boards and newsletters, reinforcing its status as a cornerstone of the global low-temperature plasma research community.
