Built on an estate that was once part of the Blesberg farm, Lythwood is rich in history and charm. The name Lythwood stems from the Greek word for stone, referencing the old quarry on the estate.

Over the years, the property has undergone various ownerships and transformations, including the addition of a manor house and the employment of talented Italian builders from Prison of War (POW) Camps, who contributed their wrought iron craftsmanship to create beautiful chandeliers and decor accessories. Under the present owners, Ann and Michael Peacock, Lythwood Lodge has evolved into a luxurious country hotel with a range of accommodation options, including cottages and veranda suites. Recently, an expansion project has been completed, providing additional public areas and an Avellini Tent for bridal couples.
