Metropolregion Rhein-Neckar is a regional partnership working to make the Rhine-Neckar area in the heart of Europe more sustainable, attractive and competitive. Its work brings together three institutions: Verband Region Rhein-Neckar, the association Zukunft Metropolregion Rhein-Neckar and Metropolregion Rhein-Neckar GmbH. Guided by the principle that partners achieve more together, they coordinate regional development and connect the area’s people, organizations and resources.

The partnership focuses on several areas, including spatial planning, education, health, culture, tourism, events and civic engagement. Its initiatives support collaboration among cities, districts and regional stakeholders, promote knowledge sharing and address priorities such as sustainable development, prevention and future-ready services. The region also offers information and resources through news, events, data and dashboards, and interactive mapping tools. Its “WAS GEHT Rhein-Neckar?” portal is being tested as a cultural and events platform featuring concerts, theatre, exhibitions, festivals, readings and stories about culture and tourism. Through shared projects and communications, Metropolregion Rhein-Neckar presents the region’s strengths and encourages people and institutions to help shape its future.
