About Mid-America Arts Alliance
Mid-America Arts Alliance is a brand that has been sharing and advancing the work of artists and scholars in communities for almost fifty years. They are dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leading artists and promoting creative expression rooted in authentic historic narrative. With a focus on their six-state service area (Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas), Mid-America Arts Alliance aims to amplify the voices and stories of artists, tradition bearers, scholars, and historians.
They celebrate diversity and cultural richness through their online resource called Voices of Our Region. This platform showcases the contributions of individuals from different cultural, racial, ethnic, and lived backgrounds. From Women's History Month to Black History Month, Mid-America Arts Alliance highlights important themes, such as the impact of gender-based and sexual bullying on journalism and the history of African Americans in the Midwest.
Through grants, fellowships, exhibitions, and more, Mid-America Arts Alliance supports and empowers artists and organizations in their mission to create a vibrant and inclusive arts community
