The Mobility Alliance views mobility as a connected ecosystem designed around people, not silos. The Open Mobility Ecosystem brings together the full system — from inputs such as policy, standards and data, to the processes that orchestrate mobility through traffic and mobility management, and ultimately the outputs experienced by users across public, corporate and destination mobility. Within this ecosystem, mobility can be delivered through both demand-driven services that provide broad access and supply-driven solu The MaaS Alliance works toward achieving an open and seamless ecosystem for mobility services. As a leading international MaaS community, the MaaS Alliance brings together all the players in the transport ecosystem – public authorities, start-ups, system integrators and service providers amongst other key stakeholders. The Alliance Members cooperate to create enablers needed for the successful deployment of MaaS in Europe and beyond. The Alliance also supports the roaming and scalability of MaaS services, with a view towards establishing a borderless MaaS system. The MaaS Alliance gathers the leading companies and most progressive public authorities of the field to establish the foundation needed for the MaaS ecosystem and to solve the urgent questions related to technical interoperability, governance and business models and regulatory questions. The working groups within the Alliance bridge innovations with successful implementations and regularly publish Vision papers. Since its establishment, the MaaS Alliance has been growing rapidly in terms of visibility and influence globally, being now a partnership of over 70 members. In 2018, the MaaS Alliance was recognised as the best organisation in the field of MaaS by BMaaS. it also penned a partnership with ITS America agreeing to share global best practices in MaaS and to collaborate to avoid duplication of work when supporting the broad implementation of Mobility as a Service and Mobility on Demand.

About Mobility Alliance
MaaS Alliance is a public-private partnership focused on establishing a unified approach to Mobility as a Service (MaaS) and driving its adoption in Europe and other regions. They strive to unlock the necessary economies of scale for successful MaaS implementation. Offering a range of products and services, MaaS Alliance aims to revolutionize the way we travel by integrating various transportation modes into a single application.
Their comprehensive MaaS application appeals to a diverse range of individuals, including Belgian citizens who expressed a strong interest in active modes of transportation, public transport, and shared mobility. The Alliance conducted a survey among 3,000 participants to gauge the current use and interest in mobility apps. The findings revealed a significant gap between interest and actual usage, highlighting the untapped potential.
Route planners emerged as the preferred tool among participants. Interestingly, the survey also demonstrated that MaaS has the potential to create a modal shift, with respondents expressing a willingness to change their travel behavior in favor of public transport and walking/cycling. These insights underline the potential of MaaS solutions to shape and transform the future of transportation
