Maaseudun Säätiö

Maaseudun Säätiö is a Finnish foundation established in 1950 to strengthen community spirit in rural areas and preserve and support education rooted in rural life. Its work is guided by the purpose set out in the foundation’s rules, which remains relevant to communities across Finland. The foundation supports organizations and institutions that advance educational initiatives in the countryside, providing grants to help them carry out activities aligned with its mission.

It also awards scholarships to capable individuals from rural areas, primarily to support vocational studies. Through this combination of organizational funding and individual assistance, Maaseudun Säätiö seeks to encourage learning, opportunity and shared purpose in rural communities. The foundation’s website provides information about its rules and governance, including its board and representative, as well as guidance on applying for a grant or scholarship.

Maaseudun Säätiö’s central focus is the long-term support of rural education and the people and organizations working to sustain it
