About Maati TV
Maati TV is Pakistan's first web-based interactive channel, dedicated to embracing the diversity of Pakistan and challenging extremist notions with hope, acceptance, and coexistence. As a product of the Interactive Resource Centre (IRC), Maati TV believes in the power of storytelling, treating it as an inherent art in all of us. Initially launched in 2011, the platform was revamped in 2016 to reflect a digital millennial vision.
With a focus on human rights, democracy, and culture, Maati TV offers a range of engaging content. Their videos cover a variety of thought-provoking topics, including autism awareness, debunking misconceptions about autism, addressing body image and self-esteem issues, and exploring gender roles in Pakistan. These videos aim to educate, inform, and foster a greater understanding of important social issues.
In addition to their video content, Maati TV also offers theater productions that tackle critical societal topics such as the relationship between the state and its citizens, freedom of speech, and the rights of religious minorities. Alongside their media endeavors, Maati TV also provides workshops and networking opportunities to enhance the capacity of journalists in community journalism, digital storytelling, and reporting on their communities. Maati TV is committed to promoting diversity, inclusivity, and the power of storytelling to positively impact society in Pakistan
