Maatk

Maatk is an inclusive art initiative that adapts works of art so that blind and sighted visitors can understand and enjoy them together. It creates exact reproductions of artworks, using relief and textured stone finishes that invite visitors to explore images through touch. The compositions are adapted to make their elements easier to understand, while accompanying explanatory text provides context about each artwork or monument. Visitors can also access extended audio guidance through QR codes, with additional QR content offering sign-language support.

Maatk’s work brings art to a wider audience through an inclusive rather than exclusive approach. Its cultural offering includes La Fragua del Arte, an inclusive cultural space in Villar de Cañas, Cuenca, featuring accessible exhibitions, multisensory experiences, and activities for all. The organisation also shares videos, news, and information about its exhibitions and events. Through tactile reproductions and complementary interpretive resources, Maatk offers visitors different ways to engage with art and experience its details.
