Peta Oakes, writing as Gaelic Mac Dubhdara, is an independent author and publisher whose work explores ancient myths, civilisations, sacred traditions and the stories through which people have understood their world. Drawing on comparative mythology, ancient history, classical civilisation, religion, folklore and cultural memory, her books examine subjects ranging from celestial calendars and the origins of ideas about paradise to Atlantis, Celtic legends and powerful women rulers.

Her catalogue brings together nonfiction explorations of ancient worlds and cosmologies with several epic fantasy series. These include Celestial Chronicles, The Ancient Worlds and Sacred Cosmologies, The Celtic and Mythic Realms, Powerful Female Rulers of Antiquity, The Archive Beneath Trilogy, The Riftborn Saga, The Kelatyr Cycle and The Last Memory of Heaven Trilogy. The works span illustrated series, historical inquiry and imaginative stories shaped by myth, mystery and lost civilisations.
