Mackay Allergy Services

Mackay Allergy Services is a locally owned clinic providing allergy care in Mackay, Queensland, and surrounding regional communities, including Emerald, Moranbah, Proserpine and Bowen. Founded in 2010 by Dr Marius Botha, the practice is owned and operated by two general practitioners, with a focus on helping patients identify and manage allergies, including in areas where specialist clinics may be less accessible. Its team offers care for conditions such as allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, conjunctivitis, asthma, food allergies and angioedema, as well as anaphylaxis-related concerns.

Services include skin prick testing, which can assess reactions to multiple substances such as pollen, mould and foods, and immunotherapy, also known as desensitisation therapy or allergy vaccination. The clinic welcomes referrals through Medical Objects, and many consultations and tests may have Medicare rebates available. Mackay Allergy Services operates as an outreach clinic open for one week each month, with calls directed to a messaging service checked daily.
