About MACLA
MACLA is a contemporary arts space in San Jose, CA that celebrates and embraces the Chicano/Latino experience. With a mission to engage people in civic dialogue and community transformation, MACLA incubates new visual, literary, and performance art. Their inclusive approach offers a safe space for marginalized communities, providing a platform for artists to reimagine and recreate a world where everyone can thrive freely.
Through their exhibitions, MACLA recognizes the physical and psychological experiences that have shaped these communities' reality and dreams. Featured artists like Brittany Bravo, Jonathan Christensen Caballero, Kristen Huizar, and others contribute to this transformative space. In addition, MACLA offers the Teen Tech Center, a free space for youth ages 12-19 to develop tech-based skills through multimedia production.
